OK, this week seriously flew by! I can´t believe I´m 2 weeks away from going from one foreign country to another foreign-er country! I´m absolutely excited to go teach real people with real problems that need real help to feel real joy. I want to be there now because I know I could do so much good, but I know that being in the CCM for a few more weeks will prepare me more than if I got out there now, because we have such great teachers and devotionals that bring an increased desire for repentance and service each time, no matter how many times I´ve been told to use PMG and teach to people´s needs. This week what hit me is that Hno. C told us that our goal is not only to prepare people for baptism and conversion, but to make eternal covenants in the temple. That seems like a long road for people that are just discovering God, but I know that it´s my job to to help people take the next step in the journey with each visit, and that can only be done through helping them with what they need at the very moment to build their testimony little by little.
ALICE! I was waiting for my comp. to go to the bathroom, and a green shirt maintenance worker looked at my tag and asked if I had family. I told him I had a sister that was here a couple months ago. He said his name was Hno. C and he was your teacher! he said he saw me and I looked like i was related to you, and he remembered you because you were in his last district. he said teachers could only teach for 3 years to give others the opportunity. He´s a super nice guy and meeting him taught me that I should never underestimate the humble people, because you never can tell if they are a smart, rockstar missionary with a giant testimony. And you can only find amazing people like that by talking and listening to people! Hno. C wishes you success and extends his love to you!
We went to the temple today!! we got on the bus and went out into reality. instant craziness and dirtiness but it was cool to see the city. for some reason I love seeing everything in the city just because it´s different from anything Ive seen growing up. It's cool to see that our instructors live in a crazy place like Mexico city and still are happy, truly living IN the world but not OF it. we saw the cool visitors center and took a tour from a couple sister missionaries. Hno C came!! and we took pictures as a district, then we hurried over to the store.

One district from our branch has been leaving every week, and so they leave their classroom for the last time Tuesday night, and the new district comes to the classroom Wednesday morning. over the past few weeks we've been raiding the old district´s classroom before the new district comes, and so far we've acquired cushioned chairs and spacious white tables instead of desks. now all that´s left is to get 7D´s fan...
There is some kind of virus here that hits cruise ships. I had had a sore throat since Wednesday, and then I got a headache, and then i got the "sick feeling" and decided to go in. I had a fever of 101F which kinda scared the doctor (but I get fevers like that whenever I get sick right?) and I had some symptoms of strep throat, so he gave me an antibiotic. (not penicilin, but some other kind that sounded familiar, like Ive heard it prescribed over the phone by a vet I know...) we went to our casa and slept. our amazing district leader brought us food in the pouring rain and we lounged from about 1PM Saturday, to 9AM Sunday. I felt a whole lot better by about 24 hrs after starting the antibiotics but I´ll still take them for the 10 days. so now, nobody shakes anybody else's hands.

I want everyone to know that I´m doing fine, there´s no need to worry. Ive never felt homesick, or like there´s something I´d rather be doing! There´s not really good days and bad days, just kind of a lot of days that blend together in a mix of feelings that I need to do better tomorrow than I did today. Hno C said that EVERYTHING we do needs to be focused on our investigators. We study so we can know the gospel to teach our investigators, we study language so our investigators can understand us, we eat so we can have the energy to love our investigators, and we even do laundry on P-Day so that our investigators can trust us as representatives of Christ. Today I´m writing my family so that I can smile to my investigators knowing that my family is doing alright!
love you all!
